Diving into Virtual Reality: 360Heros to Exhibit at Scuba Show 2016

UnknownWith many industries adopting virtual reality, the scuba diving community is no different in realizing the benefits of using this technology. In an effort to bring 360 video solutions to underwater explorers, we are proud to exhibit at the 2016 Scuba Show in Long Beach, California on June 4th and 5th.

We’ll be showcasing our 360Abyss electronic VR dive housing at the 2016 Scuba Show. The 360Abyss is designed to descend to a depth of half a mile with a crush depth of 1,000 meters.

Seminars & 360Abyss

Our underwater housing, called the 360Abyss v4, has made it possible to capture 360° video of sea lions off the coast of Santa Barbra Island, parasites inside the mouth of a shark and underwater life for Ocean First Education. This is our 4th iteration of the 360Abyss and has introduced new key features for underwater spherical video capture. This includes our Bullet360 camera sync technology that allows divers to turn the unit’s cameras on and off simultaneously underwater. This saves battery life and allows for complete remote control of the unit underwater.

Our CEO, Micheal Kintner will be conducting a seminar both Saturday and Sunday of the show. His seminar Capturing Spherical 360 Video Underwater will be presented at Seaside 4-A on Saturday from 4pm to 5pm and Sunday 3pm to 4pm. The seminar will cover how to achieve 8K spherical video resolutions underwater as well as demonstrate the equipment and how VR can help the dive industry grow.

Scuba Show Award After Party

On Saturday night, attendees will enjoy the Scuba Show Award After Party from 7pm to 11pm taking place in the outdoor Shark Lagoon area of the Long Beach Aquarium. We will host a space at the event where people can experience virtual reality via different platforms. The activation will take you underwater as we feature content captured under the sea. Guests who stop by will be able to participate in interactive content, take photos and lounge in the space.

As one of the only virtual reality companies to exhibit at Scuba Show we are excited to pioneer a new approach to underwater capture for divers. If you would like to see our full line of VR/360 video technology, stop by booth #213 or just look for the big 360RV next weekend. Hope to see you there.
