Facebook Unveils 360-Photo & Video Feature

Ever wondered what it would feel like to be in the depths of the sea swimming with marine life? Facebook unveiled its new 360-photos feature last week and it has never been easier to view 360 content.

This new feature will give people the chance to really immerse yourself in an environment. According to Andy Huang, the product manager over at Facebook, “Now you can experience the moments you share in 360 as if they were actually there with you, from hiking through a national park, to wandering through a museum, to celebrating a wedding.”

How to upload 360-Content:

  • Capture a panorama with your 360 Plug-n-Play™ device
  • Download the latest Facebook update on your Android or Apple device and open the Facebook app.
  • Share the photo as you would any other photo: tap the  tool on the top right of your Timeline, select Photo/Video, choose the content you want to share, and tap Post.
  • Once your photo is posted, look around in your photo — or any other 360 photo in News Feed that’s marked with the compass icon on the right-hand side — by moving your phone around or dragging with your finger to view content. If you are viewing content on a desktop simply click and drag.

360 Photo Resolutions Guide:

360Heros 360 Plug-n-Play Holders™ make it easy to capture 360 degree photos and timelapse videos. The click of a single button allows users to capture fully spherical images at resolutions as high as 13,000 x 6,500 pixels. The key is the setting the GoPro cameras to photo mode and either utilizing our Bullet360 technology to fire all of the cameras or syncing them to a wireless remote. This makes it possible for photographers to effortlessly capture a seamless and limitless field of view and capture multiple panos at a time.
