Following an eventful weekend in Los Angeles at VRLA, the 360Heros team is headed to Orlando as a tech partner for the Comcast NBCUniversal Hackathon.
With hackathon participants challenged to find new ways to present immersive entertainment, 360Heros role as a tech partner is to provide exclusive VR/ 360 video content to be used in the challenge. This content was filmed specifically for the hackathon and offers viewers a panoramic perspective of Telemundo‘s Un Nuevo Dia Studio in Hialeah, Fl. Armed with this content and support from 360Heros, hacker teams will seek creative solutions for presenting it in an interactive format.
The hackathon itself is titled “Smart, Dynamic, Immersive Entertainment Driven by Technology,” and is the third Comcast NBCUniversal hackathon. The third edition of the event will challenge participants to use hardware, software and content to explore immersive entertainment for Universal Theme Parks & Resorts, Telemundo NBC Universo and Golf Channel’s GolfNow.
During the event 360Heros will be showing attendees their end-to-end workflow solutions for 360 video and demonstrating their use in the market place. The 360Heros team will also be providing tech support throughout the event for the developer teams and offering insight in the presentation and distribution of VR 360 content.
As the 360Heros designated technical expert for the hackathon, 360Heros CEO Michael Kintner will serve on a webinar panel for registered attendees in the lead up to the event. In regard to participating in the hackathon, Kintner stated: “I’m excited for the opportunity to work with creative minds in the VR/360 space and to see the innovative solutions this competition produces.”
As a prize for the most innovative use of VR/360 video technology 360Heros will be awarding one team of hackers with a premium 360 video production kit. This includes an H3Pro6 Plug-n-Play™ Holder, a copy of our 360CamMan™ workflow management software, a 360Heros mount stand and a free three month membership to our Video Hosting and Syndication Center.
The 360Heros team would like to thank the Comcast and NBCUniversal teams for including us in this great event and we look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando!
